Jane Goodall says no to ivory and horn trade

Dr Jane Goodall travels an average of 300 days a year speaking in venues around the world about the threats facing chimpanzees and other species and biomes. What drives her is the hope that humans will ultimately solve the problems we have created for the planet. She continually urges her audiences to recognize their personal power and responsibility to effect positive change through action, lifestyle change and personal commitment.

Jane is a Dame of the British Empire (the equivalent of a knighthood) and a United Nations Messenger of Peace. She turns 80 this year and we caught up with her on a speaking tour in Cape Town. Here’s what she had to say about the notion that trading in ivory and rhino horn is a way to save the animals.
