The GER accreditation process, initiated by the Zeitz Long Run Initiative 5 years ago, assesses the ‘4Cs’ (Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce) of a company through a process of pre-qualification followed by three days of intense inspection by internationally qualified independent assessors. The certification recognizes Cottar’s contribution to the global sustainability movement and represents the most comprehensive and stringent of all accreditation processes in the world.
Calvin Cottar comments: "Louise and I and all our staff are proud to have achieved GER® status. In retrospect, achieving GER® was the toughest audit we have ever experienced, but absolutely worth it! We learnt where we needed to strengthen and improve, and where we were strong and exceeded expectations. Thank you to all our team for helping us achieve this!"
Cottar’s 1920s was approved in July 2014, shortly after receiving its impressive Gold Eco Rating from Ecotourism Kenya. Congratulations to the entire Cottar’s team!
