(Posted 06th September 2014)

South Africa’s top agents are heading to Reunion today to be part of the 2014 MascaRun Challenge which aims to showcase the island’s attractions to the participants and equip them better with experiences and facts to sell Reunion holidays. For the next couple of days will 24 travel agents, tour operators and selected journalists be put through the motions of their eight teams facing challenges and fun exercises with the winners qualifying for the Mega MascaRun which will see over 200 travel agents and tour operator staff compete in June 2015.

Said Reunion Tourism, aka Ile de la Reunion Tourisme or IRT, in a media release sent out yesterday: ‘Five days to appreciate the richness of the island, in an challenging but friendly atmosphere! The island of Reunion is full of attractions and activities, at sea, in the air and on land. Few destinations in the world offer all these adventure and leisure attractions in such a concentrated way, combining modernity and exoticism. Tour operators and travel agents are the best ambassadors of the island of La Reunion. This is why we want to them discover Reunion in a completely new way, so that in turn, they make you want their customers to come for a visit and come back’.

The event is sponsored by IRT, home airline Air Austral, The Lux***** Reunion and The Reef***, all working hand in hand to make this latest marketing initiative another resounding success.
