2014 has been extremely busy year for the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust (VSPT). We launched many new exciting community projects as well as celebrated the continued success of our existing endeavours.

The VSPT team and our local communities wishes you the best this holiday season and thanks you for your great generosity. With your continued VSPT will continue to enhance the livelihoods of local people and promote the conservation of great apes.

The Batwa

At our Gahinga Batwa Vocational Centre men, women, boys and girls are knitting up a storm thanks to a donation from long time VSPT supporters Bridget and Jimmy Curtin. The Batwa community have really taken to knitting hats and scarves which keep them warm during those chilly mountain days and nights. They are also selling these fun items to visitors providing them extra income to help support their families. The perfect gift this Christmas!

The Sheep
Virunga Lodge also celebrated its tenth anniversary and the VSPT marked the event by launching a community sheep project for the 138 families that neighbour the lodge.
Trees, trees and more trees!

Earlier this year the VSPT joined forces with the Mvule Trust who sponsored a major indigenous tree nursery in Kyambura. So far, the project has provided nearly 40,000 trees to the community living within a 2 kilometer radius of Kyambura Gorge Lodge.

Take this opportunity to donate to any of these great causes!
