RWANDA’S SERVICE MAGAZINE REWARDS EXEMPLARY SERVICES

Rwanda’s premier magazine, The ServiceMag, yesterday night celebrated service excellence and improved customer relations when they held their annual award ceremony at the Kigali Serena Hotel Conference Centre in the heart of the Rwandan capital.
A number of award categories were again going to familiar names though a few surprises here and there opened the eyes of the audience when it came to making strides to close the gaps, catching up with industry leaders and meeting expectations of standards and service delivery from their clientele.
RwandAir, the national airline, again beat their competitors when they claimed their prize as Rwanda’s most appreciated and liked airlines, a reward for the hard work of the staff as the airline had gone through dramatic growth over the past years with all its inherent challenges and yet came out on top ahead of many more fancied names.
In the hotel category it was Serena Hotels walking away with the top honours as the best hotel group, a sound judgement that was for the Kigali Serena Hotel and the Lake Kivu Serena Resort.
Best phone and internet provider honours were won by on and the same company, TIGO and in the restaurant category it was ‘The Fantastic Restaurant’ which proved to be fantastic enough among its clientele to carry the day and claim the top prize.
Guest of honour was the Minister for Trade and Industry Francois Kanimba who handed over the trophies to the winners in front of over 250 invited guests representing the who is who from Rwanda’s business community, the diplomatic corps, government and civil society at large.
The publisher of the Magazine, Ms. Sandra Idoussou, who herself deserves a prize for the enterprising spirit and endurance she has shown over the past five years since the magazine was first launched, expressed her appreciation to winners, participants and the audience, but also the magazine’s readers who took part in the survey and determined the winners with their votes.
The ServiceMag now also runs an edition for Burundi, the first ever such venture in that country and is available for free in many outlets but notably found on the RwandAir flights as inflight reading material, giving passengers travelling to Rwanda a clear idea whom to do business with.
