Turkish Airlines’ arrival in the Seychelles good for tourism and trade

The imminent start of flights by Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Mahe, the main island of the Seychelles archipelago, is seen to give a boost not just to bringing more tourists from around the world to the paradise islands, but to also boost trade.
Elsewhere in Africa has the arrival of Turkish Airlines opened to door to business delegations visiting the respective countries to explore investment and trade opportunities. Across Africa were many deals struck and Turkish construction companies have since then made inroads into the sector with the most recent showcase project being the new Radisson Blu Hotel and Rwanda’s national convention and exhibition centre.
Using an Airbus A330 on the route for the initial three flights a week, will give the airline enough cargo space to begin supply the Seychelles’ hospitality industry and trade corporations like STC with consumer goods, which have helped to boost Turkey’s trade balances with Africa through both competitive pricing and quality.
Turkish Airlines has the widest international network of any major global airline and therefore offers new options for travelers from around the world to fly to the Seychelles via the airline’s hub in Istanbul. Major roadshows are presently underway in Bucharest, Budapest and Prague, aimed to promote the new route but also showcase two other Vanilla Island organization members, Mauritius and Madagascar, to where Turkish is flying already.
Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St. Ange again welcomed Turkish Airlines as a new partner in promoting tourism to the archipelago, saying the new connections will give the Seychelles a competitive advantage in the region.
Meanwhile has Seychelles Tourism launched their latest App which will give visitors to the island with smart phones instant access to a wide range of services across the main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue once downloaded for free to the phones of visitors. Aptly named ‘Seychelles Travel Guide App‘ can users, even off line, access information about restaurants’ locations and menus, maps of the islands, key attractions and how to get there using a phone’s GPS function.
Notably does the App also permit users to file ratings of facilities visited, no doubt keeping in particular restaurants on their feet to avoid poor service and quality to appear instantly on the web to their lasting detriment.
