FIRST RUNNER UP AMONG UGANDA’S CORPORATES RECOGNIZES KAMPALA SERENA’S TOP STANDING

Mr. Anthony Chege, Country Manager, Serena Hotels Uganda receives the First Runners Up Award from Mr. Kamal Shah, Managing Partner from Grant Thornton Kenya.

Kampala Serena Hotel received the First Runners up award under the Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) category at the first edition of the country’s Corporate Governance Awards 2018, Uganda.

The award was received at the Governance Award ceremony organized by the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU) that took place at Kampala Serena Hotel. The ceremony was presided over by Right Honourable Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda.

The Corporate Governance Award is a platform to recognize outstanding organizations that are at the vanguard of corporate governance excellence. Organizations with outstanding achievements in governance, risk and compliance fields in Uganda are recognised and this award plays an important role in encouraging improvements in the quality of Corporate Governance while reflecting the changing attitudes and expectations among shareholders, investors and stakeholders.

Mr. Anthony Chege, Country Manager who oversees the operations of Kampala Serena Hotel, says, “We are honoured to be awarded for our efforts to promote best practices in governance. Good corporate governance has ensured that we have a clear strategic path which is important in business continuity.
