10 YEAR SUSPENSION FROM IATA CLEARING HOUSE ENDS AS AIR TANZANIA CLEARS OLD DEBTS

(Posted 30th October 2018)

Air Tanzania has been readmitted to the IATA Clearing House, ten years after being suspended from the platform for being unable to clear debts and related other reasons.
This development was seen as a key element in relaunching not only international flights beyond the African continent but also finally being able again to accept connecting traffic and feed passengers to other airlines, especially for the planned flights to Mumbai – which are yet to commence.
The airline operates regional flights from Dar es Salaam to the Comoros, to Entebbe / Uganda and to Bujumbura / Burundi and plans to expand their African network when two additional new jets arrive later in the year.
The two Airbus A220-300’s, formerly known as the Bombardier CSeries 300, are expected to help the airline to start operations to other key African cities in Eastern and Southern Africa.
