Greetings ATCNews Readers,

Welcome to the October 2019 update of the latest news and developments at Coastal.

Maintaining Our Standards, Beyond MCC

We have now been flying MCC (Multi Crew Coordination) in our cockpits for 10 months. The culture in the cockpit has transformed into becoming the norm of not only 2 pilots but to flying as a team, promoting the safety and efficiency of each flight.

The continual training and assessment of our pilots has further evolved, as we have established a Standards department, responsible for ensuring that all of our pilots and all of our flights follow the Coastal standard. We take feedback from multiple sources, including our own internal reporting, feedback from customers and other operators, to bring our teams to task.

The journey to promote ever increasing standards of safety and operations is continuous and needs focus and determination. At Coastal, we are fortunate to have more than 20 years’ experience of Captain Maynard Mkumbwa as our Director of Flight Operations and 3-decades’ of aviation Captain,

Emile Dellieu as our Director of Standards and Training. With the top leadership team, we will continue to assess, evaluate and evolve our standards to give all our customers the assurance for every flight they take with Coastal.

Hot Destination : Mafia Island

Did you know that whale sharks are the largest fish in the sea? They grow to be larger than 13m in size!

There are only a few places in the world where whale sharks gather together and Mafia Island happens to be one of them. They head further inland, feeding on the plankton pushed out with the silt from the Rufiji River. Now is the time to see them close up, during the months between November to February.

We are offering 2 daily flights to Mafia with a possibility to connect from Arusha, Dar, Ruaha, Selous, Serengeti and Zanzibar making it easily accessible from anywhere in Tanzania or from beyond.

Meet us at MKTE – Nairobi

We will be exhibiting at the MKTE trade show from the 2nd – 4th October at Stand E8. The show will be attended by Beatrice Muia, our Sales & Marketing Manager, Alessandro Compagno, Charters’ Sales Manager and Segun Medubi our Network, Revenue Manager & Distribution Manager. We would like to to take the opportunity to discuss our new concepts & progress being made, including our Safety journey, and most interestingly flights and destinations to make each flying Safari a memorable one.
