BRUSSELS AIRLINES LAUNCHES NEW BELGIAN DESIGNED BUSINESS CLASS AMENITIES BAG
(Posted 16th October 2019)
Brussels Airlines celebrates one of the most iconic designers of Belgium with the introduction of its new Business Class amenity bags in partnership with NATAN. In a new collaboration with Galileo Watermark, the sophisticated NATAN bags were designed in both black and blue and include all the inflight essentials.
Brussels Airlines teamed up with NATAN and Galileo Watermark to create a fashion inspired amenity bag for its Business Class passengers on intercontinental flights. The elegant yet functional bags are made from vegan leather and feature a woven hand strap to increase their post-flight usage.
The choice to work with NATAN was a logical one as it is a true Belgian icon. The brand has been offering elegant luxury fashion, leather goods and jewellery around the globe since 1983. Edouard Vermeulen, founder of NATAN, is known as the designer of choice for European Royals and in 2017 received the title of Baron from the Belgian King Philippe I.
Today, NATAN is a well-established brand in the global fashion industry, with six stores in Belgium as well as international stores in Italy, UK, France, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands and the USA.
With this partnership, Brussels Airlines continues to showcase the very best of Belgium, as the airline also does with its partnerships with Belgian star chefs and Belgian chocolate and beer brands to create culinary experiences on board.
Nicolas Iritcity, In-flight Product Manager of Brussels Airlines said: ‘As proud ambassadors of Belgium, it has always been important for us to bring the best of Belgium to the world and partner with experts in their respective fields. We are thrilled to do so once again with our latest amenity bags. This is a bag that our guests will definitely continue to use after their flight.’
Pieterjan Van Biesen, Retail and Marketing Director of NATAN said: ‘We are honored to celebrate our debut in the airline space with our flagship carrier and contribute to their new Business Class experience. We designed the timeless bags using elements from our ready-to-wear collections in order to give customers an authentic NATAN experience. Our collaboration is a celebration of luxury, creativity and Belgium.’
Johannes Kloess, MD at Galileo Watermark said “We are proud to have worked with Brussels Airlines, NATAN and RainPharma on this special project. We were keen to continue Brussels Airlines’ tradition of partnering with national icons and brands to elevate their onboard offering. This focused partner approach has resulted in a luxurious and elegant amenity bag that is truly unique and relevant.”
The beautiful unisex bag is available in Business Class on all North American and African Brussels Airlines flights and is the first launch in a collectible series of three unique designs. The complete collection will roll out over 18 months and the kits also include in-flight essentials like an eye mask, pen, dental kit, socks, ear plugs, moisturiser and lip balm to ensure a comfortable flight. The cosmetics are provided by Belgian brand RainPharma, known for its no nonsense approach to skincare with effective and high-quality products.
This latest initiative of Brussels Airlines to work with Belgian icons is mirrored in the airline’s cooperation with leading chefs, all of them Michelin starred, to create new menus for business class passengers using dishes popular in their own restaurants but adapted to be served at 41.000 feet in the skies over Africa and North America.
Brussels Airlines flies daily between the European capital city and Entebbe in Uganda, with six of the weekly flights routing via Kigali while the remaining service routes via Bujumbura / Burundi.
