… More from the Edge of Kibale Forest

CHARLOTTE BEAUVOISIN, AKA NAGAWA, SHARES SOME MORE INFORMATION ABOUT TRAVEL TO AND WITHIN UGANDA

Dear ATCNews Readers – greetings from the Edge of Kibale Forest – where the national park is now open again for visitors.

There has been a lot of talk about Kampala going back into lockdown but it hasn’t happened (yet). With more than 30 deaths of #COVID19, are Ugandans taking the pandemic seriously? We do our best to simply stay home…

Thankfully our internet connectivity is now vastly improved and I have been mastering Zoom meetings (do remember to brush your hair next time Charlotte!)

Are you following my #LockdownDiaries?

"Tonight I am back in my wooden cottage on the edge of Kibale Forest listening to the elephants making their way through the bush some metres from my house." Read And finally, a sighting!

We’ve recently had an opportunity to spread our wings. Twice a year, the Sunbird Hill team carry out bird population monitoring on behalf of NatureUganda. This voluntary activity takes us to Semliki Wildlife Reserve and Semliki National Park, Lake Saka and Katonga Wildlife Reserve. The bird counts are an amazing learning experience and we frequently have these wild places to ourselves. I tag along as the scribe (and very amateur birder).

Every Friday www.ATCNews.org publishes a short story about my life on the edge of Kibale Forest. And finally, a sighting! with links to the first ten stories found in the series.
