African Music Films Programme
African music feature films and clips complement the live performances. The Old Fort Amphitheatre transforms into a cinema space where festival-goers can gather to watch a feast of big screen projections including; The Last Song Before the War (Mali/USA), 100% Dakar (Senegal/Austria), Maramaso (Kenya) and the world premiere of I Shot Bi Kidude (Tanzania/UK), featuring exclusive footage of the final chapters in the life of a Zanzibar music legend.
Here is the festival timetable for all performances and film screenings. |

The festival theme says it all; Together as One: Amani Ndio Mpango Mzima, with its main focus on Tanzanian music.
As Yusuf Mahmoud, director of the festival says, ‘Music communicates with all of us, regardless of age, gender, language, religion or politics. It teaches us to respect our differences and value diversity.’ |
