#Africa largely absent from #TripAdvisor’s top 25 Top Hotels and Top Luxury Hotels of 2017

When TripAdvisor published their coveted list for the top 25 hotels and top 25 luxury hotels around the world last year, much of Africa was notably absent.
However, four hotels from the continent did make it into the global top rankings, one, from Mauritius, in fact appeared in both lists.
The Baraza Resort & Spa on the ‘Spice Island‘ of Zanzibar, came in as number 25 on the list of the top hotels in the world, while the Oberoi in Mauritius came in as number 20.
The same Oberoi then made another appearance on the TripAdvisor list of the top 25 luxury hotels, where it claimed the number 6 spot. Also in that category did the Egyptian Rixos Seagate Sharm make an appearance, occupying the 7th spot.
Le Maison Arab from Morocco finally rounded up Africa’s appearance, claiming the 14th place on this exclusive list.
In a separate list for the best bargains around the world did then Madagascar’s Claire de Lune make an appearance in position 21 while Luigi’s Complex in the Gambia claimed place 24.
No African resort or hotel did make it into the top 25 of the most family friendly hotels however, showing that the continent’s hospitality industry still has a long way to go.
Congratulations to those hotels and resorts which made it into the top 25 in the world in their respective listings and encouragement to all others not listed to strive to match such accomplishments,
