AFRICA MICE MASTERCLASS OUTCOMES

The 6th edition of Africa Business Tourism and MICE Masterclass held on July 27th and 28th, 2023 in South Africa provided new insights on trends in sales, bidding, joint marketing agreements.  Held in a hybrid format,  the programme was attended by delegates from throughout Africa physically and virtually.

The 2023 Africa Business Tourism and MICE Masterclass was an opportunity for tourism stakeholders to understand the global and Africa MICE industry outlook, build powerful relationships and learn directly from the global and renowned MICE and tourism experts as well as corporate planner sector. A critical area of focus was how stakeholders can leverage opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to drive further growth and development in the Africa Business Tourism and MICE sector.

It brings together key stakeholders of Africa’s travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors to network, share insights, and devise strategies for intra-Africa travel and tourism growth across the continent, whilst enhancing the brand equity of “Destination Africa’’.

This year’s ATLF will be preceded by Intra-Africa Travel Roadshow, B2B Session & Exhibition on 3 October 2023.

NOMINATIONS FOR THE AFRICA TOURISM LEADERSHIP AWARDS ARE STILL OPEN

As per the tradition, the awards will held as part of the 2023 Africa Tourism Leadership Forum which takes place from 4 to 6 October.  The Africa Tourism Leadership Awards, hosted every year recognizes and celebrates change-makers and innovation pioneered by Africans, in Africa, for African travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation industries.

The nominees can self-nominate or be nominated by others and awards will be adjudicated through public voting and authenticated by BDO Advisory Services.

Nominations close on August 15, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. There will be no late nominations accepted.
