The Uganda Wildlife Authority has received eight Rhinos from Munyawana Conservancy in KwaZulu, Natal South Africa, a donation to Uganda by the African Parks organization.
The 4 females and 4 males were delivered to Entebbe Airport yesterday, December 09th, 2025 and were officially received by government officials.
The animals will now be held in quarantine for a period of time to ensure their good health before being released for breeding purposes.
President Museveni gives the Rhino Fund Uganda the thumbs up
ATCNews founder and long time chairman of the Rhinofund Uganda, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang H. Thome has been – besides Yvonne Verkaik and Ray Victorine – one of the early key members of the Rhinofund Uganda, which brought initially two rhinos – Sherino and Kabira (donated by the Sheraton Kampala Hotel and Mr. Sudhir Rupareial) before Disney Animal Kingdom donated two more southern white rhinos, followed by the purchase of several more from Kenya’s Solio Game Reserve.

The added arrival of eight southern white rhinos will no doubt assist the county to return some of the animals to new special reserves within the national park framework.
