African Parks – the latest updates

Today on World Rewilding Day, we highlight a conservation strategy that’s making a significant impact on our planet’s biodiversity. Rewilding is all about restoring ecosystems and reversing the loss of wildlife, for nature’s return.

And one way to do this is by reintroducing or relocating key species to their wild habitats. It’s a collaborative effort involving governments, local communities, and conservation organizations like ours.

Over the last two decades African Parks has translocated more than 8,000 animals from 38 species, from moving 500 elephants across Malawi, to bringing rhino back to Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and restoring carnivores like lion, cheetah, and wild dog to several parks in Southern Africa. And just last year we announced our plans to rewild over 2,000 southern white rhino across the African continent.

When you donate to African Parks, you are helping us to carry out projects like these that are helping to restore, and rewild Africa’s parks and protected areas.
