SMME TRAINING DAY & ONE-ON-ONE BUSINESS EXCHANGE
The SMME training day & one-on-one business exchange is one of the highlights of the Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit and Challenge.
The 2022 Masterclasses included TED-style talks, expert presentations, and panel discussions, with the Namibia SME Digital/Social Media and Business Development Masterclass focusing on empowering young people to use technology to develop and grow sustainable businesses. The critical role of technology in driving successful businesses, as well as ensuring youth businesses and start-ups effectively and successfully harness this medium in developing and growing their businesses, was central to the Master class programme.

Hon. Memunatu B. Pratt
Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs
Sierra Leone
Hon. Pratt pioneered the establishment of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, where she served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department for close to 24 years. She was also a Visiting Professor to Hiroshima University and Hiroshima Peace builder’s Centre in Japan for over 7 years. She also served as a Visiting Professor and resource person to several universities in Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. She has over 15 years’ experience in Peace, Conflict Gender, Security and International Studies. She has a number of publications to her name and she is a recipient of the National Prestigious Insignia Award as Grand Officer of the Order of the Rokel (GOOR) from the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Sherin Francis
CEO, Seychelles Tourism Board
Sherin Francis is a finance and economics expert from Seychelles. She serves as the Principal Secretary for the Tourism Department, which reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism. She was the chief executive officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board for eight years prior to her appointment as the head of the Tourism Department in April 2021. Tourism has increased under her leadership, with specific campaigns aimed at markets such as the United Kingdom.

REGISTER FOR THE AfCFTA BUSINESS FORUM 2023
The AfCFTA Business Forum 2023, will be held from 16 – 18 April 2023, in Cape Town, under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of SAfrica. The AfCFTA Business Forum presents a platform for engagement at various levels including Business to Business; Business to Government; Government to Government. The objective is to enable the private sector to unlock trade and investment opportunities presented by the AfCFTA, in order to boost intra-Africa trade.
The private sector has to be a critical driver of the implementation of the AfCFTA, the new markets that it shall unlock are intended to fully benefit the private sector and to contribute to the transformation of Africa’s economy. It is for this reason that the Secretariat is upscaling private sector engagement, the AfCFTA Business Forum is one of the platforms for this engagement. The Forum will bring together African and global business executives, strategic investors, financial institutions, investment promotion agencies, business councils, chambers of commerce, multinational corporations, African women and youth business organisations, as well as Heads of States and Government.
