On the eve of the flight launch did Air Kenya and Aerolink host a presentation and cocktails for the Ugandan travel trade and selected media at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

A similar service is offered by Coastal Aviation in Tanzania from the Serengeti to Kigali, for tourists to take advantage of a direct flight link via Mwanza. There they clear customs and immigration before flying across Lake Victoria to the Rwandan capital, from where access to the Volcanoes National Park then takes two hours by car. Unlike the Air Kenya service however can tourists not take advantage of the common East African Tourist Visa, which only at present applies to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda but not Tanzania.
