Air Kenya, one of two leading beach and bush airlines in Kenya, has reportedly taken delivery of a De Havilland Dash 8 – 200, MSN 516. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 37 seats in an all economy layout and is capable to land and take off on shorter runways and bush air strips.
The deal was done via Elix Aviation Capital which is based in the Irish capital of Dublin. Formed in 2013 has the company become one of the fastest growing turboprop lessors and the lease is the first between Elix and Air Kenya.

A year ago did Elix deliver the same aircraft type to Safarilink, marking its entry into East Africa’s most vibrant aviation market.

The recently delivered aircraft entered service in April 1998 with Horizon Air in Seattle before later flying in United livery for CommutAir. The aircraft joined the Elix Aviation fleet in February 2019.
