Air Mauritius takes home two World Travel Awards from ceremony in the Maldives

BEST AIRPORT LOUNGE IN INDIAN OCEAN AND BEST ECONOMY CLASS AFFIRM AIR MAURITIUS’ STATUS

Air Mauritius won two major trophies at the 2017 edition of the World Travel Awards – Indian Ocean. The Amédée Maingard Lounge, the airline’s premium lounge in Mauritius, was named as the Indian Ocean area’s Leading Airport Lounge.
Air Mauritius also won the Indian Ocean Leading Airline for their Economy Class.

The award ceremony was held recently at the Sun Aqua Resort in the Maldives. Rajesh Beeharry, Manager Special Projects, who also manages the Amédée Maingard Lounge, received the awards on behalf of Air Mauritius.
The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. The voting takes place online and a year-long communications campaign encourages global participation from both tourism professionals and customers.

We are pleased that Air Mauritius has consistently been ranked among the leading airlines in the region for the past 12 years. We are constantly striving to improve our products and services. As from the end of this year we will be offering significantly improved products to our customers with the introduction of two new Airbus A350- 900’s joining our fleet this year followed by two Airbus A 330neo’s in 2018 and two Airbus A 350-900’s in 2019. The existing aircraft will also be upgraded with new features similar to those on the new aircraft with new seats including full flat seats in business class, a new inflight entertainment system and on-board Wi-Fi‘ said Mr. Indradev (Raja) Buton when acknowledging the awards.
