(Posted 15th March 2016)

On Saturday this week, 19th of March, will Air Seychelles at the airports of Mahe and Praslin embark on the migration from their present check in and reservation system to a state of the art SABRE installation.

The airline, in order to ensure a smooth check-in experience during the migration period, has requested passengers flying from or within Seychelles between 19th and 21st of March to note the following:

  • For guests travelling on international flights, arrive at Seychelles airport at least three hours ahead of the scheduled flight departure time;
  • For guests travelling on domestic flights, arrive at Seychelles domestic and Praslin airports at least one hour ahead of the scheduled flight departure time;
  • Bring a printed copy of their booking confirmation and/or travel itinerary with them to the airport;
  • All guests travelling domestically or internationally this weekend are advised to have purchased their tickets before Saturday, 19 March, 2016.

Mr. Roy Kinnear, CEO of Air Seychelles, commented on the move to SABRE and said: ‘Once complete, this important systems upgrade will enhance the Air Seychelles guest experience at all travel touch points, streamline how we handle our guests, deliver functionality for check-in, and ultimately, provide a new and more efficient departure control system for our staff at our hub. The team at Air Seychelles is well prepared and fully focused on this important technology upgrade project and we look forward to ensuring a smooth and successful cutover‘.

The first service to be handled by the new booking platform will be on 19th of March, flight HM3143 from Praslin to Mahe, at 2.20 pm, while the first international flight to be processed by the SABRE programme will be HM18 Seychelles to Abu Dhabi, departing at 8.25pm same day. Full systems migration is expected to be complete by 21st of March.
