Air Tanzania is expecting, through the Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA), the delivery of a second Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner, joining a sistership which is already in service since July 2018.
The second such aircraft will also be configured in a two class cabin layout of Business and Economy.
When the first B787 arrived, due to a lack of international long haul routes, was that aircraft regularly deployed on flights between Dar es Salaam and the city of Mwanza, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, supposedly to allow the crews to gain flight hours and experience.
Earlier this year the route to Mumbai was launched and the airline did at that stage begin to use the aircraft for that service.
Air Tanzania is planning to launch flights to London after receiving slot times at Gatwick, but no firm date has been given yet by the airline when that service is due to commence.
It is understood that flights to China are also on the drawing board but again, no firm dates have been announced when that service is to commence.
