HEAD ON COMPETITION UNDER #COVID19 CONDITIONS THE LAST THING THE MARKET NEEDS

It took Air Tanzania only two days to retaliate against Precision Air’s announcement to launch flights to Songea Airport at Mbeya, a route so far only served by Air Tanzania.
It is clear that instead of holding talks with other airlines operating domestic flights within Tanzania to jointly combat the impact of COVID19, has the sense of competition pushed aside common sense, hence the announcement.
The Mwanza route is presently served by Precision Air alone but effective 06th of April will both routes now be subject to competition, no doubt leading to loads insufficient to sustain operations in a financially viable manner.
