COMPETITION SET TO TURN UP THE HEAT ON THE HARARE – DAR ES SALAAM ROUTE

When the Air Zimbabwe inaugural flight from Harare to Dar es Salaam yesterday reached its destination at the Tanzania coast, did a full passenger load emerge from the aircraft, participating in the celebration of the new airlink.
Flight UM438, operated with an Airbus A320, will serve the new route three times a week, competing head on with Fastjet which is also flying an Airbus A319 on the route.

On board the inaugural flight, which was met in Dar es Salaam with the traditional water cannon salute, were delegations from the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, management of Air Zimbabwe, invited guests representing the travel and tourism trade and of course a number of paying passengers. The new service will improve connectivity between the two countries considerably, aimed to aid trade and tourism links between the two countries.
