SUMMER 2019 SCHEDULE SHOWS 5 AIR FRANCE FLIGHTS INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT THREE

(Posted 05th July 2018)

Schedules of airlines often are prepared for a year and more in advance and this seems to be the case with Air France’s plans to raise their current three per week flights between Paris and Nairobi for next year.
Advance schedule information suggests that effective 31st of March next year, with the switch from the traditional northern winter schedules to the northern summer schedules, the airline will fly five times a week to the Kenyan capital, using a Boeing B787 for the service.
The airline flies in code share with Kenya Airways on the route, both of them linked through the SkyTeam aviation alliance and the additional flights are bound to increase the competition between the two partners.
Meanwhile does the future of Air France hang in balance as the appointment of a new CEO remains pending in the face of his predecessor’s resignation after failed negotiations with French unions over terms and condition for staff, including pilots and cabin crew.
More strikes, according to both the airline and the French government, will make the financial position of Air France even more difficult after several years of losses and the French government has, for now, ruled out a public bailout.
