An Offer You Can’t Refuse

Warm greetings from Airkenya!
Travellers are ready to explore uncharted territories again, with travel trends like #TakeMeThere buzzing on the online scene. Therefore, we are presenting you with attractive offers no one can refuse. Find this and more in this month’s roundup.

Let’s dive in.

Digital Local Travel Health Surveillance Form
The government of Kenya has digitised its domestic travel locator card. Effective Friday, 18th June 2021, travellers will be required to fill a digital health surveillance form available through this link (https://ears.health.go.ke/local_airline_registration/) or through the Jitenge App (available on Google Playstore) to get a QR Code for presentation at the port health desk on arrival.

Meanwhile, all international arrivals are required to submit their daily health status through the USSD Code *299# service upon clearance by the port health. The health surveillance form for international travellers is available through this link: https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/.

Airkenya Partners with Amref Health Africa On PCR Testing
We received overwhelming requests to provide PCR tests at our premise to allow clients to proceed with their safari without losing valuable time. We are happy to confirm that we have partnered with Amref Health Africa to provide the laboratory service at KES 6,700 or (USD 67) per person. The service will be available upon request 48 hours before the travel date. The results will be available for collection at our terminal en route to your destination.

Promotional Fares and Incentives for Groups and Multi-sector Bookings
As we continue to welcome the positive changes that encourage travel, we have introduced incentive packages with short-term and long-term yield. We envision the new group and multi-sector discounts will encourage avid travellers to visit the beautiful destinations in Kenya.

We also welcome early bookers who wish to secure their holiday plans. We have opened limited seats on exclusive discounts for travel dates between now and 15th July 2021 (inclusive).

Update on Migori and Tarime Airstrips
The ongoing upgrade work at Migori airstrip was interrupted by the heavy rains experienced in April and May. The projected completion time has been pushed to September this year. Tarime airstrip is also unserviceable due to rains and lack of maintenance. The state of both airstrips grossly affects the resumption of our connection service from Maasai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This will, in no way, dampen the safari plans for holidaymakers. We will continue to operate the Mara-Serengeti-Mara service through our Wilson-Kilimanjaro service for the remainder of 2021.
Uganda Mandatory PCR Testing
Due to the emergence of COVID-19 variants, the government of Uganda has imposed a mandatory rapid PCR test upon arrival at all points of entry on all travellers, including children, coming from India, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, United Arabs Emirates, Turkey, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan and Tanzania regardless of their vaccination status at USD 65 per person.

This directive will affect all passengers connecting from Maasai Mara National Reserve to Entebbe in Uganda.
