Airlink launches Luanda service

AIRLINK INAUGURATES JOHANNESBURG – LUANDA SERVICE

(Posted 22nd October 2021)

Airlink, the privately owned Southern African regional airline, yesterday inaugurated its new Johannesburg – Luanda air service.

The route, which links South Africa’s and Angola’s economic hubs, will be operated three-times weekly using a 98-seat Embraer E-190 aircraft and will offer convenient connections to Airlink’s network of South African domestic and other regional destinations.

Our newest route is a perfect example of how air services will enable our two countries, with our different cultures, to pursue a shared objective of generating business opportunities and diversifying our economies. The development of a sustainable business and leisure tourism sector will play a key role in this. Airlink’s flights on this route will provide greater choice and flexibility to customers needing to travel or wanting to transport goods between our two countries. This will promote competition while reducing the costs of doing business for our customers,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.

Airlink’s value for money fares include 20kg free economy class checked in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard are customers treated to a light meal, refreshments, seat comfort with generous leg room and a choice of aisle or window seat.

Customers also have the freedom to book business class on this route and enjoy Airlink’s intra-continental Business Class service available on the Embraer E190, which cabin offers six business class seats, generous pitch with plenty of legroom and wide seats arranged in a two-plus-one abreast configuration. Onboard business class service on these flights includes complimentary meals and beverages, a 30kg check-in luggage allowance, priority boarding and lounge access at selected airports.

COVID-19 Health and Safety onboard Airlink flights

The health and safety of our customers and employees are Airlink’s primary concern. Airlink’s aircraft are equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters (HEPA), which effectively block 99.97% of particulates, including Coronavirus molecules. These HEPA filters continually sterilize the air in our cabins, which is renewed entirely every three minutes.
