#AirSeychelles announces new flexible booking policy

AIRLINE CONTINUE TO REACT TO CHANGING MARKET CONDITIONS CAUSED BY #COVID19

(Posted 12th March 2020)

Air Seychelles has introduced a new waiver policy to provide travellers more flexibility and peace of mind when booking their trip across the airline’s regional network.
As part of the policy, travellers holding tickets for travel between 04th of March and 31st of March, 2020 are being allowed the choice to change their travel dates with no change penalty.
At the time of rebooking, if a fare difference arises or taxes have increased, additional fees will apply.
Travellers requesting the complimentary date change are advised to visit their travel agency, the Air Seychelles Sales Offices in both Mahe and Praslin or contact the airlines Call Centre by phoning 4391000.

Please note that the new waiver policy is not applicable on domestic tickets for travel between Mahe and Praslin.

Meanwhile has the airline also announced several flight cancellations due to the present circumstances. Wrote Air Seychelles to ATCNews earlier today:

Air Seychelles has today announced that the airline will be cancelling a series of flights across its regional and domestic network following a significant downturn in air travel, due to the outbreak of The Novel Coronavirus (COVID -19).
Effective 26th of March until 30th of April 2020, the airline will be cancelling 10 flights on the Mauritius route, whilst on the Johannesburg route the airline will be cancelling 11 flights.
On the Mumbai route a total of 21 flights will be cancelled until 30 June, 2020. A complete list of the cancelled flights can be found on the Air Seychelles website at airseychelles.com.
Following the recent travel restrictions implemented in Israel, Air Seychelles will also be cancelling 2 flights to Tel Aviv during this period.
Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles said: “Due to the negative effects of COVID-19 on demand, we have been forced to cancel approximately 40% of our flying schedule through the end of April. We are monitoring the situation daily and hope that further reductions will not be necessary.”
Guests holding Air Seychelles tickets affected by these cancellations will be notified by the airline of their travel options. Guests scheduled to travel between 04th of March and 31st of March, 2020 on the regional network are also being provided the option to change their travel dates free of charge.
As the booking performance for domestic flights have decreased tremendously, following
considerable cancellations from overseas due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the airline will be consolidating a number of flights on its Praslin route.
Air Seychelles is also encouraging its staff to proceed on annual leave at this time due to a reduction in activities across the entire business.
