#AirTanzania halts Mumbai flights amid #COVID19 crisis

NO CORONA VIRUS IN TANZANIA BUT CAUTION IS BETTER THAN LATE REGRETS

Effective today, 13th of March, has Air Tanzania suspended their flights to the Indian city of Mumbai.
This follows a declaration by India to suspend Visa for foreign visitors – apart from diplomatic corps, official government visits, UN and other International Organizations such as WHO, World Bank, IMF and others, till at least the 15th of April 2020.
Tanzania however is also keeping an eye on the growing global #COVID19 crisis and while not yet imposing as strict a series of measures compared to Uganda for instance, is nevertheless – according to reliable information received overnight – weighing options about which nationalities to stop from travelling to Tanzania, depending on the level of infections in those countries.

WHO has finally decided to call the outbreak a global pandemic two days ago, after sitting on the proverbial fence for at least a week, when the writing was on the wall already.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier by ATCNews already, had Kenya Airways also halted their flights to Rome and Geneva, in an effort to keep #COVID19 out of the country.
