#AirTanzania starts recruitment of additional crews ahead of delivery of new jets

88 ADDITIONAL CABIN CREW POSITIONS ADVERTISED BY AIR TANZANIA

(Posted 12th January 2018)

Presently on course for delivery this year is the order by the Tanzanian government of two brand new Bombardier CS300 jets.
According to information seen is Air Tanzania now starting to recruit cabin crew and cockpit crew to be deployed on their existing fleet of Bombardier Q400NextGen’s and the incoming CS300’s.
88 positions have been advertised for cabin crew and an unspecified number of cockpit crew, who will then have to attain type rating on the new aircraft before they can operate it.
The CS300, new of not just Tanzania but Africa as a whole, will also have to undergo type approval by the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority before it can start commercial flights, similar to what Fastjet’s Embraer E190 type approval process.
While the two jet deliveries are reportedly on course is the third Q400 still stuck in Canada over a claim made against the Tanzanian government with little progress made so far in court. The aircraft was due for delivery by mid last year and due to help ATCL to boost flight frequencies and destinations.
