Air Tanzania earlier this week launched their long awaited flights to Mumbai in India and will initially operate three flights per week as mentioned by ATCNews.
An announcement by President Magufuli, made on that day, now suggests that the Tanzanian government will buy two more Airbus A220-300 aircraft for the airline, though no details on delivery dates were given as yet.
At the same time was it also confirmed that, as was also reported by ATCNews already in March, that a fourth Q400 aircraft had been purchased from the new owners De Havilland in Canada after Bombardier sold off the turboprop programme.
In addition to these orders will a second Boeing B787 join the Air Tanzania fleet next year to help expand the airline’s planned long haul network, likely to be deployed on a route to Europe.
