TRAVEL OSCAR NIGHT REWARDS WINNING TEAMS

The Africa and Indian Ocean World Travel Awards Ceremony last night at the Diamond La Gemma dell’ Est, aka Star of the East, brought together CEO’s and top managers of the contenders for awards and prizes from across the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands and the African continent.
Winners of the night were no doubt Serena Hotels, which scooped an unprecedented 12 trophies for their properties, but Kenya Airways with two key airline awards and of course Air Seychelles with four awards, capturing all available categories, made headlines on social media and will no doubt, come Monday, find its way into the print media in the respective countries too.
Here in Uganda have notably two newcomers taken the honours, apart from regular winners, the Kampala Serena Hotel and the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa. Congrats to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, aka Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, initiated by the late Robert Brierley and now managed by Lydia ‘Nkuringo‘ and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp for bringing home trophies to the Pearl of Africa and putting Uganda on the continental map! Here must a special recognition go to Lydia who kept things not only together when Robert unexpectedly passed away but expanded, improved and turned their vision into reality.

We start with the Indian Ocean region before moving on to the Africa winners and congrats to all who won and congrats too to all others who stood up to be counted and participated in this premier Hospitality, Tourism and Aviation award scheme:
