On the 25th May 2023, the Cross Cultural Foundation of Uganda (CCFU) hosted the 5th National Heritage Awards ceremony at a colourful event to recognize “Promoters of our National Heritage“.
The Ankole Diocese was recognized for establishing the East African Revival Museum at Ruharo Hill, a few metres from St James Cathedral in Mbarara City.
As Chairperson of the East African Revival Museum did Maria Baryamujura – an Ashoka Fellow – represent the Rt. Rev. Prof Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa, the Bishop of Ankole Diocese to receive the Award.
The award was in the Intangible heritage category.
