KENYA AIRWAYS’S THIRD B777-300ER ENROUTE TO NAIROBI

(Posted 04th July 2014)

Kenya Airways has yesterday taken formal delivery of their third B777-300ER, a 400 seat aircraft in dual class configuration of 28 Business Class and 372 Economy Class seats. The ferry flight from the Paine Field in Everett is now underway, taking the aircraft home to Nairobi on a nonstop flight.

When the aircraft arrives later today at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport it will be greeted by government representatives, members of the Kenya Airways’ board of directors, management, staff and invited guests, who will be celebrating the latest addition to their growing fleet.

The graph below shows the planned fleet increase under the airlines strategic ‘Plan Mawingo’ under which the number of aircraft is due to rise from presently 48 to 107 passenger aircraft plus a further 12 dedicated freighters.

The new aircraft will be mainly deployed on routes from Nairobi to China, where Kenya Airways is this year launching Shanghai and Beijing as new destinations. Happy Landings to the new bird, its crews and passengers!
