Another brand new Cessna C208B Grand Caravan EX, supplied by Africair Inc which is based in Miami / Florida, is enroute to Tanzania, where the aircraft will join the growing fleet of Auric Air.

Operating out of three bases across Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza, does the airline now cover some 30 domestic and regional destinations, notably including Entebbe which is served several times a week out of Mwanza via Bukoba, a town on the western shores of Lake Victoria. It is the range of destinations as well as their safety record which makes Auric one of Tanzania’s premier safari and business airlines for scheduled and charter flights.

Operations into airstrips within most of Tanzania’s world famous game parks and other not-so-well maintained airstrips across the country and the wider region are made possible because of rugged design of the Cessna Grand Caravan C208B. This aircraft type, besides offering STOL abilities – STOL stands for short take off / landing – is sturdy enough to withstand the impact rough strips have on the landing gear.

Notably is Auric’s entire fleet is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics that include the latest in traffic terrain avoidance systems, TCAS, Synthetic Visual Technology (SVT) and Satellite based real time tracking systems which allows their operations centre to be aware of the locations of all their aircraft while in flight.
