ANOTHER ANTONOV CRASH IN CONGO CLAIMS 5 LIVES

An Air Kasai Antonov AN2 has crashed near the town of Kamako in the Democratic Republic of Congo, claiming the lives of 5 of the occupants while reportedly the pilot and one passenger survived the crash. From added details received does it appear the aircraft had just taken off and then crashed about 3 kilometres from the airport following which it caught fire.
No information about the aircraft registration, MSN and first entry into service were available at the time of filing the article.
Air Kasai is on the EU blacklist which bans airlines from flying into or across European airspace.
The airline suffered previous Antonov crashes in 2013 and 2005 while also having a Fokker F27 Friendship crash in 2010.
In 2014, according to information received, did the airline lose their AOC which however later seems to have been restored.
