RWANDA TO HOST 2020 AFRICA TOURISM LEADERSHIP FORUM & AWARDS

Rwanda has won the bid to host the 2020 Africa Tourism
Leadership Forum (ATLF) and Awards, set to take place at the Kigali Convention Centre between 13th to the 15th ofJuly, under the theme ‘Shaping a better future for intra-Africa travel together’.
Over the past three years, the Forum has fast become one of the continent’s leading intra-Africa events.
Building on this success, the Forum will see over 500 industry leaders convene in a bid to transform intra-Africa travel. This is in accordance with the outcomes of previous fora that took place in Accra (Ghana) in 2018, and Durban (South Africa) in 2019.
Organised by Africa Tourism Partners, in partnership with BDO South Africa, ATLF and Awards is the leading Africa travel and tourism thought leadership, multi-stakeholder, multi-disciplinary, and collaborative platform that looks at accelerating the continent’s tourism growth by setting out realistic goals that are attainable and actionable.
Affording attendees the opportunity to exploit new opportunities that benefit all stakeholders and the continent at large, the Forum has become a main driver behind the call-to-action for increased intra-Africa travel, modernising visa policies, and increasing air access for the greater benefit of ‘Destination Africa’.
ATP has identified various focus area’s for this year’s event, such as thought leadership; travel technology and innovation; transformation of intra-Africa travel; destination marketing and market access; MICE/business events strategies; African aviation routes and airlift; rural tourism development; start-ups; youth and women empowerment; and tourism investment funding. The event has also become a stable platform for Africa’s youth venturing into tourism and start-ups who are looking to unleash their full potential.

The Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) is a Pan-African dialogue platform that brings together key stakeholders from Africa’s travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors.
