The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) will on Thursday, 11th September 2025, officially inaugurate its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, as well as commence the celebration of the Association’s 35th Anniversary.
The association was founded on the 25th of October 1990 during the formal meeting of a 12-man steering committee set up by the Nigeria Tourist Board NTB where a motion was moved for the establishment of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria ATPN.
According to the National President, Prince Femi Fadina, the national body is planning a grand celebration in October when ATPN will clock 35 years of its founding.
The FCT chapter initiates and commences this landmark celebration as the chapter become established at the FCT on the 11th of September 2025.
The Vice President for the FCT, Dr. Abigail Olagbaye in her statement clarified that, as we inaugurate the FCT chapter for the first time, this marks the commencemnet of our presitiogious association’s 35th anniversary celebrations which will be held in grand national celebration in October 2025.
The inauguration of the FCT chapter will hold at the Kapital Klub & Apartments, Gamal Abdul Wasir Street, Asokoro, Abuja, and it will commence at 10:00 am, with guests expected to be seated by 9:50 am.
The FCT Chapter is expected to strengthen ATPN’s presence in the nation’s capital, providing a platform to drive innovation, collaboration, and professionalism in Nigeria’s tourism industry.
The programme will feature keynote address, panel discussion, goodwill messages, cultural performances etc.,bringing together stakeholders from government, private sector, and civil society.
The Vice President for FCT, Dr. Abigail Olagbaye, noted that the launch underscores its commitment to advancing tourism as a tool for economic growth and enhancing Nigeria’s visibility on the global tourism map.
