The African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA®) is proud to announce a strategic two-year organizational partnership with the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), strengthening connections between African tourism and the global LGBTQ+ travel community.

This landmark agreement will provide ATTA® with official membership to IGLTA, alongside significant advertising and marketing opportunities across IGLTA’s global network.

In return, IGLTA will receive ATTA® membership as well as promotional opportunities through ATTA®’s official platforms.

Kgomotso Ramothea, CEO of ATTA®, warmly welcomed the partnership, stating:

We are thrilled to establish this formal collaboration with IGLTA, which marks an important step in making African destinations more visible and accessible to LGBTQ+ travellers worldwide. This partnership reflects our commitment to inclusive tourism that celebrates diversity across our continent – and creates meaningful connections between international visitors and African communities.”

John Tanzella, President/CEO of IGLTA, said he was proud to see this partnership come to fruition:

We look forward to collaborating with ATTA® to support safe and inclusive tourism and strengthening connections among our members. Since our historic first IGLTA Global Convention in Africa, held in Cape Town in 2016, we have increased our commitment to raising awareness for LGBTQ+ travel across the continent, and this is another important step on that journey.”

The partnership will be implemented with dedicated support from both Ramothea and Martina Barth, IGLTA Membership Manager – Africa, who also serves as Group Sales Manager for The Liz McGrath Collection.

This collaboration comes at a time when LGBTQ+ travel continues to grow globally, with Africa an exciting option for LGBTQ+ travellers seeking authentic and inclusive experiences.
