Following recent reports about questionable security organs activities in the Seychelles, ahead of the upcoming elections in September this year, has WordPress and site security noted a major increase in hacking attempts, leading to site security blocking a number of IP addresses which were captured while trying to hack the system.

Both WordPress and also the site management of ATCNews is aware of the IP addresses and to widen the alert against the perpetrators are some of those numbers being published to increase vigilance for other media organisations which may not have as sophisticated a security setup as ATCNews had to install – in good part due to part hacking attempts and DOS – denial of service attacks against the site.
The ATCNews legal team is presently also exploring options to file criminal complaints against the perpetrators vis a vis jurisdictional issues.
Dark days indeed for Seychelles if those fingered by the reports have to resort to methods similar to those employed in the early days of the Rene coup regime.
