AVIADEV PIONEERS AFRICAN AVIATION PODCAST SERIES

Jon Howell, the Founder and CEO of AviaDev, Africa’s premier event driving air connectivity to, from and within the African continent, yesterday launched the much anticipated podcast series with the inaugural four interviews featuring aviation experts and economists from around Africa.
A podcast is a series of audio files that can be downloaded to one’s smartphone, tablet or laptop and listened to any time.The first 4 episodes were launched yesterday and they feature Professor Dr. Wolfgang H. Thome, Publisher of ATC News, who is taking listeners on an ‘air’ safari around Eastern and Southern Africa; Toni Ukachukwu, Editor of Aviators Africa discussing all things Nigeria; Sylvain Bosc, CCO, fastjet talking future plans and Daniel Silke a prominent economist hailing from South Africa talking local and macro economic issues affecting Africa.
Jon said when announcing the launch: “The podcast has been created as a testament to my passion and enthusiasm for African Aviation development and in response to those who claim there is not enough information and insight into the industry. We aim to bring prominent industry voices to the table to establish “ground truth” and discuss new ideas to develop this exciting market.”

The 2018 edition of AviaDev, the third of its kind, will take place in Cape Town between the 12th and 14th of June at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel and is expected to bring together over 400 key aviation and tourism personnel to discuss the future of the tourism and aviation industry in Africa. The first two editions took place in Kigali / Rwanda alongside the Africa Hotel Investment Forum in 2016 and 2017 and this year have the two events been physically separated. AHIF 2018 will take place in early October in Nairobi / Kenya but both events will continue their linkages.
