Here is the agenda for AviaDev 2023, bringing together leading industry speakers alongside unique networking opportunities. The event aims to unite the industry and drive increased connectivity to, from and within Africa.

AviaDev attracts representatives from across Africa and the wider world. Airlines attending include: Africa World Airlines, Airlink, Air Seychelles, CemAir, Delta, Ethiopian, Eurowings Discover, fastjet, Fly Namibia, Fly Safair, Ibom Air, Kenya Airways, KLM, Lift, Lufthansa Group, Qatar Airways, RwandAir, TAAG and Uganda Airlines to name a few – see the full list here The event will facilitate pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between commercial representatives of the above airlines with those involved in developing connectivity to, from and within Africa.

On 14th of June, attendees can join the AviaDev Real Estate Programme. The programme will connect the owners and operators of African airports to those with the finance, skills and contacts to develop the land and maximise its revenue potential. Marcel Langeslag and Rene Marey, NACO – Netherlands Airport Consultants will discuss the importance of proper zoning and planning to build a smart airport city, Mark Dunford, CEO, Knight Frank Kenya will lead a discussion on raising capital for airport projects and Trevor Ward, Principal, W Hospitality Group will talk with Shamil Manek, Director, Merwest Company about airport hotels in africa and the requirements for success.
15th of June will begin with a Macro Economic update by Daniel Silke, Director, Political Futures Consultancy. Panel sessions will discuss navigating investment, adapting strategies to deliver new routes and revenue streams, how technology can drive efficiency. Leading speakers include: Allan Kilavuka, CEO, Kenya Airways; Jenifer Bamuturaki, CEO, Uganda Airlines; Eduardo Fairen, CEO, TAAG; Judy Waruiru, Managing Director DPO Pay. The conference day finishes with a SAATM Hard Talk Session with Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor, CBS News and Adefunke Adeyemi, Secretary General, African Civil Aviation Commission. 16th of June will start with a drone demonstration in Nairobi Arboretum alongside the charity run. Panel sessions will discuss deigning a sustainable route development plan, refleeting and African airline start-up’s, and building a strong cargo ecosystem. Leading speakers include: Christine Mwakatobe, Managing Director, Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company; Eddie Browne, Vice President Commercial, Aergo Capital; Davison Simango, CEO and Co Founder, Zotus Group; George Uriesi, Chief Operating Officer, Ibom Airlines; Sanjeev Gadhia, CEO, Astral Aviation.
