| The Last Week of Winter: Forward Airline Capacity Looks Bright and Forward Travel Bookings Look Even Brighter… As another Northern Hemisphere Winter Season draws to a close, this week’s headline flight data is slightly down on recent weeks. As a result of significant Covid-19 capacity cuts in China due to Covid-19 outbreaks, global airline capacity has settled back to 80.8 million seats and there are significant movements in global positioning – more on that later. However with the arrival of the Summer Season, capacity is going to increase significantly.In the below chart we have added the latest airline capacity for June 2022 which currently stands at some 460 million which is just 7% below the 2019 mark, although it will inevitably settle back a bit from that number as airlines refine their schedules in the coming months subject to demand. |

| Croatia Airlines finalises summer network Croatia Airlines plans to operate 16.000 flights during the summer season, which begins this Sunday and lasts until October 30. The carrier has put close to 1.7 million seats on sale during this period and will maintain 41 international routes. In a strategic shift, the Croatian carrier will serve the most destinations out of Split, instead of its hub in Zagreb, although the latter will still boast the most flights overall. As previously reported, the airline will introduce five new routes out of Croatia’s second-largest city and maintain services to eighteen points in Europe. Apart from the new additions, it will resume seasonal flights to Athens, which were suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic, and bring back operations to Prague, which were launched last summer. |

| 23 Routes: The New Flybe Reveals Its Launch Network The new Flybe has put its initial routes on sale. There are 23, including from Belfast, Birmingham, and Heathrow. Its first flight is on April 13th. The new Flybe has put its first set of routes on sale. There are 23 in all, with the first – Birmingham to Belfast City – taking off at 08:55 on April 13th. One-way base fares are available from £19.99. Flybe will serve 16 airports in the UK, France, and the Netherlands in its first round. That’s a vast, complex, and ambitious network for a startup. Increasingly popular ‘W’ flights, such as Birmingham-Amsterdam-East Midlands-Amsterdam-Birmingham, will be necessary. |

| Aviation Event taking place in Cluj next week. And we’ll be there! Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport[4] (IATA: CLJ, ICAO: LRCL) is an airport serving the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Initially known as Some?eni Airport, it is located 9 km (5.6 mi) east of the city centre, in the Some?eni area, which is now within the Cluj-Napoca city limits. The airport is named in honour of Romanian revolutionary Avram Iancu. In terms of passenger traffic, Cluj Airport is the second busiest airport in Romania, after Bucharest Henri Coand?, handling 2.9 million passengers in 2019. Its size and location (on the European route E576 and close to A3 Transylvania Motorway) make it the most important airport in the historical region of Transylvania. |
