Aerodrome certification of 229 international aerodromes is one of the focus areas of ICAO in Africa. Make sure your staff applies international best practices so you don’t have to compromise on efficiency and safety for your clients. This course will teach the knowledge, understanding & applications of ground operations safety standards, working both on the basis of ICAO aerodrome certification standards and IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations standards.

15-18 July – Introduction to Airport Engineering

Kigali, Rwanda – US $ 400
The launch edition of this course will be hosted by the School of Engineering of the University of Rwanda, our latest ASPC-Rwanda partner. This course is sponsored by the Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management with expertise from NACO Airport Consultancy and Engineering and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

This course aims to ease the transition for civil, mechanical or structural engineers from general engineering into a fascinating career in airport engineering. It will provide you with a solid understanding of the key principles and practices relating to airport engineering. You will be introduced to the appropriate and relevant regulatory requirements and to the relevant ICAO standards and the most commonly adopted international design standards.

The course is designed for those who have or should have a role in the effective planning and construction of new airports and airport expansion projects, including:
managers, engineers,inspectors, surveyors and specialists of:

  • Aerodrome Operators
  • Aerodrome Safety & Standards
  • Airside Operations
  • Engineering
  • Surveying

From (but not limited to) :

  • Civil Aviation Authorities
