News are emerging from the Democratic Republic of Congo, that another aviation incident has taken place, this time at Kolkwezi Airport.
An Embraer ERJ145 after landing ended up in the bush on the side of the runway, and while the circumstances are yet to be determined, have passenger videos shed light on their harrowing experience after the aircraft had touched down.
Flight 202 of Mwant Jet, a company registered in the DRC, was on a scheduled service from Lubumbashi to Kolkwezi (KWZ/FZQM), carrying 24 passengers and 5 crew, all of whom reportedly escaped unharmed.
The plane is registered as 9S-AMG, MSN 145570.
An air accident investigation is reportedly now underway to ascertain the cause of the runway excursion.
