The findings have been associated, in general, with a lack of resources, both human and financial. Effective safety management (SMS & SSP) largely depend on the quality of the investigation of reported incidents and safety issues. Only 9 seats remaining Your instructor Jan Smeitink is one of the lead investigators of the Aircraft Accident & Incident Division of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Rwanda. Jan brings both the cockpit and the airport view to the table. As a former flight engineer on KLM’s B747 fleet, he was an investigator for their Flight Safety & Quality Assurance department and chairman of the aviation chamber of the Dutch Safety Board that investigates transport incidents and accidents. From there he joined Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as one of their airport managers and later as the head of its acclaimed safety platform.
