Aviators Africa, a leading force in the aviation industry, is delighted to announce the appointment of Afema Ronnie as the new Business Development Manager – Aviation Sustainability.
Afema Ronnie brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal role. With a strong academic foundation, including a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Makerere University, Ronnie has been dedicated to the aviation sector from the outset. This commitment led Afema to undergo flight operations training at Ninety Nines Flight School in Nairobi and pilot training in Pretoria, South Africa in 2020.
Ronnie is a dedicated lifelong learner, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics at Nexford University and a Master’s in Sustainable Air Transport Management from ITAaerea Business School, in collaboration with the United Nations. This academic journey showcases Ronnie’s commitment to staying at the forefront of aviation and sustainability.
With a remarkable professional journey, Ronnie served as an Aviation Journalist for respected platforms like Simple Flying and Airspace Africa. This experience enriched his insights into the aviation world and its ever-evolving challenges.
In recognition of Ronnie’s significant contributions to the aviation industry, 2022 saw Ronnie appointed as an Aviation Development Ambassador under AviaDev, playing an integral role in advancing aviation across the continent. He was also nominated and won the coveted Tower Awards 2023 which held in South Africa as a Changemaker in Sustainability.
Most recently, Ronnie was the Sales Director Africa for a prominent Carbon Offset Company, where they have been instrumental in promoting (The one Dollar Tree planting Campaign) sustainability and environmental responsibility within aviation.
As the new Business Development Manager – Aviation Sustainability, Ronnie is poised to join the team at Aviators Africa in pioneering sustainable solutions and driving positive change in the aviation sector. His passion for environmental stewardship and in-depth industry knowledge will undoubtedly consolidate Aviators Africa’s new heights in achieving a greener, more responsible aviation industry.
