SAFARILINK ADDS VALUE FOR PASSENGERS WITH NEW DIRECT BOARDING LOUNGE

It was Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Najib Balala who earlier today formally commissioned the Safarilink lounge, now granting direct access to the airline’s aircraft for boarding.
Previously, come rain or shine, were passengers compelled to use the KAA security gate but with all regulatory approvals now in place – long as it took – can the airline finally cash in on their investment in scanners and other equipment, plus staff training, worth over 10 million Kenya Shillings.

Safarilink has over the years steadily grown and operates a fleet of Cessna C208B Grand Caravans and now two Bombardier Dash 8’s. The latest addition, a Dash 8-300 is already in service while the sistership, a Dash 8-100 is undergoing heavy maintenance but expected to return to service before the end of the month.
Passengers booked with Safarilink are as of today able to board their aircraft to such destinations as Kitale, Lodwar but also Lamu, Ukunda and Vipingo, besides almost all of the national parks directly from the lounge, after undergoing a full security check on entrance into the check in area where all bags and passengers must undergo scanning in line with global safety standards.
The lounge offers space for as many as 100 passengers at a time. A full range snack and drink service coffee shop is available at the airside for tea, soft drinks and a range of sandwiches and light meals. Notably have passengers, while waiting for their flight to be called, access to free high speed WiFi in the lounge.
