LOSE ONE GAIN ONE AS THE RACE IS ON TO EXPAND FURTHER INTO EAST AFRICA

The more recent opening of a Best Western Premier in Uganda’s airport town of Entebbe, already generating strong support from travelers for a first or last night stay in Uganda, was only part of the rollout plans Best Western has for East Africa.
Just a day after it was learned that the Best Western Premier in Hurlingham, Nairobi may rebrand next year to become a Starwood ‘Four Points by Sheraton‘ did the company announce that they signed a new franchise deal with Kenya’s Alba Hotels to develop an 83 bedroom hotel in what has been broadly described as a ‘central location in the city‘ without giving any further details on the location.
Other Best Western brands below the ‘Premier Collection‘ level are also planned for the East African region, bringing more internationally branded hotels to Uganda and Kenya but also Tanzania and Rwanda.
The new hotel is due to open in the second half of next year and progress on construction, and location, will be provided once additional information has been received from the developers and Best Western.
