Big Summit translates into big tourism business opportunities

KIGALI SERENA OFFERS DELEGATES FREE TRIPS TO THE LAKE KIVU SERENA RESORT

(Posted 07th October 2015)

Delegates booked at the Kigali Serena Hotel for the upcoming ‘Transform Africa Summit’ will be in for a pleasant surprise as the hotel will provide free transport to Gisenyi, where East Africa’s best known and largest hotel group operates a resort on the shores of Lake Kivu.

The summit for which some 2.500 delegates from Africa and around the world are expected in Rwanda will commence on the 19th of October and run until the 22nd of October, during which time, should any of the delegates wish to book a stay at the Lake Kivu Serena, free transport will be provided for them.

The 50 rooms and suites Lake Kivu Serena is set on a sandy beach of the lake and a regular magnet for Kigali residents for weekend getaways.

Nearly a dozen heads of state and government are expected to be in attendance of the summit and while in Rwanda hold bilateral talks with their counterpart President Paul Kagame.

With the spotlight on Rwanda for such a crucial continental summit will it be a perfect opportunity to also showcase the country’s varied tourism attractions and promote visits to the four national parks but also see historical sites of the old kingdom, visit the Genocide Memorials or simply enjoy the scenic beauty of the Land of a Thousand Hills as Rwanda is fondly known among her friends.

Clearly has Serena taken the lead on tapping into the delegates market after only recently also launching special packages for pilgrims who want to visit Rwanda to see and pray at the Kibeho Shrine.
